Androgynous Series: 9

Hewwo Bloglings! It is that time of the month again. No! Not my bitchy-I-need-chocoate-time-of-the-month. The time of the month when The Men’s Dept is about to open. I know you’re groaning at me and wondering what that has to do with you, but bloggettes never miss a moment to shop. And the Men’s Dept is another moment to do that. Also, with the opening of The Men’s Dept tomorrow comes this new coat from Villena, which comes with both a male and female version and also can be worth with or without the scarf. Now ask me again what the opening of The Men’s Dept has to do with you my lil bloglings? Exactly!

Also new from Villena are these pants, which also come in a male and female version. I love this stuff! 😀

Androgynous Series: 8

Bloggettes! An androgynous post! I know it has been so long. As previously mentioned they’re just so difficult for me to do (though, I shouldn’t use that excuse). I should really try harder.

Style Notes: I couldn’t help but write up this post when I saw this new hoodie by monso, which comes in both a male and female version (female version used here).  Each version comes in about eight colors. \o/ Futhermore, though these pants from Entente aren’t new, they are wonderful. They also come in a male and female version (you get both with your purchase) and each version has a cuff and straight leg version. Oh, the possibilities!

Androgynous Series: 7

Finally! A new androgynous post! I know you’ve been waiting forever for this. 😉

This is a green hooded jacket from Pumpkin. It is very nice and comes with male and female versions. My only complaint is that the inside of the collar isn’t textured low enough, so sometimes you can see through it. 😦

Here’s the backpack from Kal Rau which is almost infinitely customizable with the HUD. Enjoy being lost in indecision. ><

Androgynous Series: 6

A new round of the Men’s Department opened yesterday and they have some great things. Starting with this shirt, where the cuffs and collar are detachable and comes in a male and female version. Then are these pants which also have a male and female version, which also have detachable cuffs. I also picked up this backpack from the Attic by TokiDoki. Don’t forget to stop by and check things out.

Androgynous Series: 5

Please do not die of shock simply because I’ve completed another androgynous post without an excessive lapse of time passing by. >< This one came rather easily once I found this adorable shirt, which is not mesh unfortunately. However, the prims were rather easily adjustable. 🙂

On another unfortunate note, any of the lunch bags that weren’t very stereotypically girly were plastered with a post-it note that said “boy” on them. grrrr… So, I had to edit it and I just moved the note inside the lunch bag so it could not be seen. Problem solved and idiocy averted. 🙂

Androgynous Series: 4

Yes, I know. It has been a long time since my last androgynous post. I hope this one isn’t a disappointment because it is a bit more effeminate. I am in love with this hair from Raw House which premiered at Fairy Tales but is now available at their main store.

Androgynous Series: 3

This post was an extremely difficult one for me for some reason.  I knew I was overdue for an androgynous outfit and I simply couldn’t find something I was happy with. I finally came up with something but not after I had tossed out way too much money on things I didn’t like and wasted too much time on adjusting prims on thins that inevitably didn’t work.

In the end though, I do really like this look. However, be prepared to do a lot of prim adjusting and to be completely frustrated trying to get the shirt to fit underneath the jacket. The shirt is made for a man and the jacket for a woman, so you can see where the problem arises. But fuck them, I made it work. If you need help, dont be afraid to send me a message…and no, my messages never get capped. ><

P.S. I accidentally left my regular skin on while taking these pictures and was too lazy to reshoot. Let’s all pretend I don’t look all pinkish and blushy, mkay?

Now the important part:

Androgynous Series: 2

This month’s collection at the Men’s Department closes on the first, so be sure to stop by and pick up this plaid shirt which comes in three color schemes. They also have some really great poses by exposeur which I used in these photos. The Tee*fy bag is from a gatcha, and I was lucky enough to get brown on the first attempt. Good luck. 🙂

Androgynous Series: 1

When I started this blog, I promised a good friend of mine that I would attempt to regularly post some outfits that leaned towards androgyny. I was really excited about the concept, because of my background in gender studies but I’ve become a bit disillusioned with it. There are two really large stumbling blocks. The first major one being my own shortcomings. I failed to see how feminine I really am most of the time and it is really difficult for me to try to neutralize that. Secondly, the selection in SL is often very sexualized. Although, I have found some really quality pieces that I think will work. She isn’t completely androgynous but the idea is to neutralize her sexuality a bit more, but still maintain a sense of style.
