Crown Jewels – Enchantment

And in the visitation of the winds,
Who take the ruffian billows by the top,
Curling their monstrous heads and hanging them
With deafening clamour in the slippery clouds,
That, with the hurly, death itself awakes?
Canst thou, O partial sleep, give thy repose
To the wet sea-boy in an hour so rude,
And in the calmest and most stillest night,
With all appliances and means to boot,
Deny it to a king? Then happy low, lie down!
Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.
Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.

– Shakespeare, King Henry IV

Hello again, my lil bloglings! Just a quick reminder that the Enchantment events is still going strong. The theme this round is Rapunzel – so be prepared for lots of lustrous locks and tall isolated towers. But one of my favorite things this round is this beautifully detailed crown by AvaWay. It is so intricate and regal. And while you’re there pick up this lush gown by AiSha, the texture is so rich.

Servitude – We Love Roleplay & Enchantment

022417-04-edit-2

Hello again, bloglings! The Annex made this cute lil camisk for Maitreya’s Lara, all three Bellezas, and both SLinks. The frayed hem makes it perfect for my lil servant. Also released at WLRP are these cuffs with collar by Salt & Pepper. They come scripted, you know, for stuff that might need scripting. >.>
While you’re out and about, hopping across the grid, stop by Enchantment again, because Le Poppycock released these adorable poses in a gacha. Some are for a servant washing floors and some are for a dreaming princess at a balustrade, but all are great and come with the props.

Not a Typical Princess – Enchantment & 90’s Rewind

She didn’t dress the way they expected her to dress, and she didn’t act the way they expected her to act. She was angry and rebellious but she had much to rebel against and much to be angry about. But her anger was misguided and her rebellion was useless without direction.

Hello, blogettes! Enchantment is still running and the sims are back to normal While you ‘re there picking up all your princess gear, there is a really cute tee by The Annex; it is very nicely textures. Also, this hair by RunAway is adorable and includes sparklies.
90’s Rewind is a really fun event that reminds me of my misspent youths. Okay, I was a nerd stuck in a library consumed by the essence of reality (no joke) but there are still some really cute things there!
Aaaaand I stumbled across a new store called Cheap Frills. It is such a cute name and store for head applier makeups. The one I am wearing comes with these adorable lil hears and it also has sparkle eyebrows and pink shadow.

Last but not least, I am wearing these new gauged ears from Swallow. They’re absolutely beautiful. I’m gonna post the HUD options below.  If you need help with their HUD, I did a video on how to use it earlier. You can find that here.

Portrait of a Queen – Enchantment

Portraits of queens hang heavily on walls of palaces and castles amongst intricately worked tapestries. Their presences are daunting. The canvases thick with paint are looming and ominous. Their stiff, elegant necks are layered with starched ruffles. Their caged hair is stacked high upone their heads to increase their stature. The deep hues of the paint reflecting the deep hues of velvet and silks they swath themselves in. But this opulence, this public display, this carefully crafted art is not a ruler’s real portrait. Instead, it is in people of her domain. Does she surround herself with people who are too intimidated to question her autocratic rule? Does she fill her royal command with mere servants to fulfill her command or does dissent and free thought thrive in her presence? And the people she does not have the time to see, who till the fields, weave the cloth, fire the blades, and barter the goods, are they content? Do they rest or do they quarrel? Does she incite peace and harmony or do her endless decisions cause derisiveness and pettiness? This is the true portrait of a queen; don’t let the artist fool you.

Gretel’s Escape – Enchantment and Kustom9

It is strange the way our story has been told to children as a warning against being greedy for sweets. The evils that can happen to young ones who are easily lured by the simple prospects of sweets, but this is all a misunderstanding or blatant falsehoods.

My stepmother was a vicious woman, and my father was too weak and too lonely to prevent the evils she perpetrated against my bother and I. Hansel and I tried to remain in the house for love of our father, but the cruelty soon became overwhelming. The prospect of leaving home without any means or knowledge, throwing ourselves at the mercy of a forest, that was an easier reality to endure than our stepmother. So, we left. We were not tricked. Why should we have wanted to remain in such a household? The comfort of shelter was an easy price to pay to escape from that woman.

So, with little more than a change of clothes and a stale loaf of bread, we ran into the dark forest. And the way was lit by pebbles. Shiny pebbles which glistened in the moonlight as if bathed in water. The dark forest, which we had always been told was a dangerous and frightening place, welcomed us. The pebbles took us deeper into the forest’s thrall. It surrounded us. Fireflies danced in the trees as if celebrating our presence. How could we deny the forest when it welcomed us so graciously?
