It is strange the way our story has been told to children as a warning against being greedy for sweets. The evils that can happen to young ones who are easily lured by the simple prospects of sweets, but this is all a misunderstanding or blatant falsehoods.
My stepmother was a vicious woman, and my father was too weak and too lonely to prevent the evils she perpetrated against my bother and I. Hansel and I tried to remain in the house for love of our father, but the cruelty soon became overwhelming. The prospect of leaving home without any means or knowledge, throwing ourselves at the mercy of a forest, that was an easier reality to endure than our stepmother. So, we left. We were not tricked. Why should we have wanted to remain in such a household? The comfort of shelter was an easy price to pay to escape from that woman.
So, with little more than a change of clothes and a stale loaf of bread, we ran into the dark forest. And the way was lit by pebbles. Shiny pebbles which glistened in the moonlight as if bathed in water. The dark forest, which we had always been told was a dangerous and frightening place, welcomed us. The pebbles took us deeper into the forest’s thrall. It surrounded us. Fireflies danced in the trees as if celebrating our presence. How could we deny the forest when it welcomed us so graciously?
Hello again, blogettes! I’ve got some more Enchantment coming your way with this precious new dress from Sweet Kajira; it comes in both Maitreya and eBody sizes. This round closes on November 30th, so hop over before this deliciousness goes away. Kustom9 is now open, as well. Pewpew! released this adorable fish on a stick, which you should pick up so you can be adorable, too.
Hello Bloglings! I absolutely love Alice in Wonderland, as cliche as that may be. The word and logic games are terribly fun and it has such a cute cult culture following. Also, the concept of wonderland seems so terribly relevant to SecondLife itself, where things sometimes only make sense within this sphere.
So, this round of the Kawaii Project is Wonderland themed. And one of my favorite items this round is a hair with ears from LCKY. I am actually wearing another hair with the ears in this photo, but the set is really lovely. And the ears! They come with an up and down version, and a pierced and non-pierced version. So many options!
I am wearing a lovely tousled hair from Tableau Vivant, which was released at Hair Fair. Hair Fair ends on the 26th, so get your junk together and hop over there if you haven’t already. Stop by each shop and click on the 10 for a giftie from the merchant.
There is also this really cute dress from le fil casse at Kawaii. I like that it is really cute but not too lolita-eque. It is really difficult to find a lovely color tattoo, but antielle does work. I have this one that I found at Kawaii below and I also photograph another one last week for my flickr was was quite lovely.
Clickety-click for the credits, mah lil bloggettes!
Remember when I said I had a surprise for you a few posts back? Well, I didn’t forget! I’ve just been working on it (and maybe procrastinating a bit). It is my first decorating post!
I chose a skydome from Poetica in which to establish my scene. The theme was to be a greenhouse which housed Spring engulfed in Winter. I have always loved greenhouses and the beauty of SL is being able to take non-traditional living spaces and turning them into homes.
Style Notes: I removed most of the trees that came with the skydome except the two entry trees that you see here with the lanterns. The skydome also comes complete with the pathway and the snowdrifts. I then filled in the area with my own trees from Botanical and Alirium. The grasses are also from Alirium. The greenhouse that I chose is a large greenhouse from Frog’s Garden. It may take me a few days to get the landmarks to all the new stores up on my Store Directory, if you need one, please don’t hesitate to ask.
This is a closer view of outside the greenhouse in the winter atmosphere. I love the way the winter grasses from Alirium make the ground look almost heavy with fog.
Style Notes: The long table is one of the Tea House Tables from Turnip’s along with a stool from iTuTu. The cupcake platter is from Circa and the coffee is by Apple Fall.
This is Spring-the interior of the greenhouse. I wanted a nice, casual seating arrangement.
Style Notes: Behind the bookshelves are sculpted big trees from nocc and the grass if from Garden of Dreams. The white bookcases are by Lo momo (the books come with them), the blue ones are from Theosophy (now closed), and the leaning door shelf is from Tatty Soup. The couch is by Lame and the two armchairs are by Cheeky Pea at this round of Collabor88. The coffee table comes from Y’s House. The two plants on the coffee table are from Art Dummy. Both the large plants–the aloe and the croton plant–are from The Loft as well as a small aloe plant on the bookshelf. The two floral vases (on the the end table and the other on the floor) are from JoHaDeZ. The small aloe plant on the blue bookshelf is from Dirty Deeds. The teapot and love bird drawing are from Zigana.
Style Notes: On either side of the entryway are two cherry blossom trees by Botanical, encircled by Lisp benches. The rug is from Digs.
This has been a long post but I hope you guys enjoyed it! If I missed anything just let me know and I will answer any questions you have. 🙂
