Asteria – More We Love Roleplay

The stars sang to her. Sang to her? She didn’t know how else to describe it. Along the surface of her skin she could feel them vibrating, hear them vibrating. It was a slow, desperate dirge. The other fae felt it, too. And some nights it would fill the forest, echoing off ancient trees, thrumming deeply along the walls of their homes. It kept them awake. It overshadowed their serotinal festivities. It was a part of every intimate gathering and couldn’t be escaped even in solitude.

They knew what it meant, but they dared not speak of it. The stars were dying. This was their sad song. They were mourning their own death. Each low, desperate note that played across her skin, tugged at her. So, Asteria wept for the death of her friends. She wept for the loss of future generations. She wept until the stars themselves blessed her and marked her as one of their own children.

“He stared up at the stars: and it seemed to him then that they were dancers, stately and graceful, performing a dance almost infinite in its complexity. He imagined he could see the very faces of the stars; pale, they were, and smiling gently, as if they had spent so much time above the world, watching the scrambling and the joy and the pain of the people below them, that they could not help being amused every time another little human believed itself the center of its world, as each of us does.”

I am always on the search for some dramatic makeup. I think it can really make the appearance of a fantasy character very enigmatic and striking. Some of the best makeup on the grid can be found at SlackGirl, which I am wearing in the above photo. She has appliers for so many different heads as well as system tattoo layers. So, if you aren’t familiar with her store, you should definitely wander around it for a while…you know, if you’re into that sort of thing. But if you weren’t, I can’t imagine you’d still be reading this blog post. 🙂  And just in case you are on the search for dramatic makeup, another favorite brand which I have featured before is Zibska.

As all you lil bloglings know, one of my favorite monthly events is WLRP. And this round was no disappointment. Caboodle released these beautiful silky sashes in fitted mesh for Belleze Venus, Freya, and Isis; Maitreya Lara; and SLink Hourglass and Physique. That is a lot of options! While I was traipsing around WLRP, flitting like the adorable fairy that I am (or at least was at the time), I greedily snatched up the winged headpiece by Astralia. It is beautiful. Then I promptly turned them into new fae wings. To do this, you will need a bit of editing knowledge. However, I think they’re just as lovely large and stuck to my back. 🙂

The Rain. – for Roxi

“The rain to the wind said,
You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged–though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.”
― Robert Frost

I only know Roxi Firanelli through her photography and blog, but it is a beautiful way to come to know someone…if distant. I cannot pretend to understand her loss and her pain. Although, I do understand loss and pain as we all do. For more information, please read Duchesss Flux‘s post. To support Roxi in her time of loss please visit the dock at Nymphai where you can release a luminary and purchase this lovely and delicate necklace to help with her son’s funeral expenses.

“It’s not that we have to quit this life one day, but it’s how many things we have to quit all at once: music, laughter, the physics of falling leaves, automobiles, holding hands, the scent of rain, the concept of subway trains… if only one could leave this life slowly!”

Stage – More We Love Roleplay and Retroville Gacha

Breathe.

In. Out.

Eyelids fluttered shut against pale cheeks, removing her from the stage. Instead, she was there in the forest. The painted particle board became large, ancient tress that bowed over her graciously. The hard surface of the stage became soft, warm earth covered in plush grass beneath her bare feet. She heard birds chittering in the distance.

Palms of trembling hands smoothed over the thick velvet of her gown. They moved slowly, first over her bodice then down her skirt overflowing with a pettiskirt. As they traveled, the trembling slowly abated.

In. Out.

She remembered back to her childhood. Dressed in a plastic tiara and bits of clothes she found at yard sales, she pretended to be a princess. Other childred mocked her. They told her that trash could never be royalty. And now she was pretending again. A smile alighted on her face; it revealed itself more in her cheeks than her lips. She pretended to be many things as a child. She would continue to do the same as an adult on stage.

Retroville Gacha opens on the 15th and DRD is releasing this really cute studio set. The insert that I used on the stage that looks like a play set is one of many different sceneries available in the gacha: forest, castle, sci-fi, a street, western town, etc. All of them look pretty phenomenal. There is also a studio building for you to put one in at a time and a casting couch and director’s chair as rares. It is a really lovely set.

This Pixicat dress is a new release at We Love Roleplay. It is sumptuously detailed for nobility, exactly as intended. Look at the backs of the sleeves! Also, at We Love Roleplay this round is a beautiful hair from Elikatira. It has a side braid and comes with a lovely circlet. Circlets are my favorite!

To be royal.

Defying Gravity.

I know you were pondering the other day (just as I was), “Why is there not more cyberpunk gear in SL? It doesn’t make sense with the vast number of geeks that hang out here.” But fear not, my little geeklings, FutureWave is here!

what next picture this 3_001

Yet another Pose Fair post for you my little Bloggettes. I’m becoming rather fond of my male alt, doublethinker. I  may keep him around and use him more often on posts. However, his wardrobe is seriously lacking. I will have to peruse some male fashion blogs for help. If you have any suggections, please let me know!

This first post is a pose by What Next and comes with the camera pose prop. A few of these were released and they are all absolutely adorable. Also new is this cute loose owl tshirt from Admiral Spicy! You can’t see it in the photo, but he has a moustache, and everything is better with a moustache my bloglings.

EverGlow 25_001

This second pose is a cute pose from EverGlow. It just looks like they’re being so playful and having so much fun. 🙂

Color Triple Play: Terracotta

Triple Play: Terracotta

Hellooo Bloglings! I’ve got a bit of a different Triple Play today. Usually, I take one piece of clothing and utilize it three different ways to present its versatility. Well, yesterday, Belgravia released these beautiful new dresses and I fell in love with this color. I wanted to show you all of them. So, I’m doing a color triple play: three dresses, one color.

The first dress is a gorgeous piece with silver inserts on the sides, which emphasize the curves of the hips.  The dress comes in nine colors and some colors have silver inserts and some have gold.

Triple Play: Terracotta

This dress is a more conservative piece but the front panel is perfectly made, giving it extra texture and interest. It comes in eleven color combinations.

Triple Play: Terracotta

I love the color interchange on these dresses and the wrinkling of the fabric is done beautifully and comes in tend color combinations. Overall, the metallic touches on the new collection are divine making the pieces feel luxurious without overdoing it and making them cheap.

LotD 113: Because human existence is finite…

LotD 113

Hello my lil bloglings! Wish me luck, because I am entering the coldLogic photo competition.  These are my photos for the competition. Unlike my usual photos, they are photoshopped, however, only the shadows and such are photoshopped to be deeper–all the clothing is absolutely gorgeous without any help.

I chose gish by coldLogic because, though it is an older piece, it is so classically beautiful. Then I paired it with these new shoes from Vive9 Ryvolter.  I hope you enjoy the eye candy blogettes!

LotD 113

Style Notes: The new shoes from Ryvolter put the skin matching HUD right in the middle of your screen, which can be a bit frustrating. But never fear, just right click on the HUD, edit and move it out of the way so you can see your lil tootsies while you’re skin matching.

LotD 105: Think Spring

LotD 105

Blogettes, Spring is right around the corner and though I love winter and snow and coats and sweaters, I do miss Spring. To remind us of pretty florals and pale pastels are these new skirts from Ingenue at Collabor88, bringing a bit of that fresh Spring air into our stale, furnaced living environments.

LotD 105

Style Notes: Please notice the subtle but lovely floral pattern on the skirt; it is just beautiful. New from Epoque are these bracelets, which come with a mix and match HUD if you get multiple colors (so, please for the love of all that is holy, get multiple colors).
