An ancient magic. – Anniversary round of We Love Roleplay!

The gentle tinkling of the baubles and lanterns on her staff whispered her arrival to anyone around. Not that anyone was around in the forest, except the beasts to whom she spoke. People called her a lunatic, but they did not hear the things the beasts said. Perhaps, they simply did not listen. She listened. She listened intently. She listened to the trees screaming, too. She listened to the underbrush’s quiet but anxious murmur under the canopy of the frightened old trees. She listened to the soft, warm earth groan with each step she took. She listened to the winds gossip about far away lands of which she knew nothing. “Maybe I am a lunatic,” she pondered her sanity and the sanity of others as she marked the dark surface of her skin with magical runes. “How could I not be? Who can listen to the world cry out for help in every moment and not be driven to madness?”

As she made her way through the depth of the forest, the golden dragon flies gathered around her and chittered in her ear. They heard the winds’ gossip, too. The elf could feel their fear in every nervous flutter of their delicate, filigree wings. They sheltered themselves in the magic that crackled around her, bursting from the core of her ancient power.

But the other elves were oblivious to it all. Too long had they lived away from the forest. Too long were they comforted in homes built out of the carcasses of their friends. Logs piled around them and hid them from Nature. The carcasses had become a barrier intended to protect them from Nature. The same Nature which had previously protected them for centuries. They now prefered the soft comfort of feather beds to the soft warmth of a mossy hill. They preferred drinking from wells instead of a cool, flowing brook. They preferred to grow their food in cultivated fields and raise the beasts as slaves rather than to eat what the earth provided naturally and freely. She looked down at the village of elves in disdain. To her, they were merely human now.

During this round of We ♥ Roleplay, Enfant Terrible did what they do best…lovely filigree work. Their detail is always stunning and this staff and these dragonflies are no different. It also comes with this panty and bra set with a sarong style skirt.

I am wearing and old Glam Affair drow skin. It never had Maitreya Lara appliers, so I converted the lola and phat azz appliers to omega appliers. I love the contrast of the gold makeup around the eyes. Glam Affair did release new fantasy drow skin at We Love Roleplay this month as well as applier for the Lelutka head. You may want to go give them a whirl.

Like a sir.

If you actually caught me in world, you might be surprised to see what I wear on a regular basis. Though you may find me as a fairy or other fantastical creature, you are more likely to find me in lingerie. Corsets are a secret love of mine, and I impulse buy them like cheap chocolate at the supermarket counter. Luckily, corsets make me look prettier than chocolate, bloggettes. Another favorite of mine is pairing panties with suit jackets/blazers. I find the juxtaposition of business with the intimacy of panties and garters intriguing. So, when No. 7 sent me this adorable moustache lipstick, I had a clear vision for showing off a side of me on this blog that I often neglect.

No. 7 sent me a few things for Fantasy Faire, all of which are delightful, but this lipstick really struck a chord with me. I like the play on gender while still maintaining femininity. Not only is it adorable, it is part of the Fantasy Faire Hunt and is, therefore, free (with the purchase of the hunt HUD).  Hunt information can be found here. This lipstick comes as an installer for the TMP mesh heads and as an applier for the Lelutka mesh heads. No tattoo layer is included for system heads.

LotD 126: Hazelnutty Goodness

LotD 126

Hello Bloglings! So, I cheated a little today, but I’m tired from Pose Fair coverage. I know I blogged this outfit yesterday with the meme, but you couldn’t really see it. So, here it is again where you can actually see it in all its hazelnut glory.

There is so much going on right now that I am practically bursting at the seams with it. Pace yourself Musey (yes, I talk to myself). First, I have good news for my little blog. I have been invited to be on the Style Academy feed. In case you don’t know what a feed is, I will explain. A feed aggregates a bunch of different blogs together so that a reader can go to one place and view posts from many different blogs. The Style Academy is a special honor because it is an exclusive feed by invitation only with very talented bloggers. If you are not currently reading this feed, you should be (because there are so many talented bloggettes out there), here is your <link> and you will always be able to find the link on my feeds page.

Now as made evident by my recent posts, Pose Fair has started and I hope you have been enjoying my extensive coverage and the fair itself. I have had a lot of fun breaking out of my shell and trying new things (oh my god, I got nakie!). But there is also so much more going on that I will be covering in the week to come, such as: The Avenue Spring/Summer Fashion Week, The Hollywood Event, The Soho Market (opening on April 1st), FaMESHed (opening on April 1st), new releases from mon tissu (finally, am I right?!),  Zaara, CheerNo, and Ducknipple. I’m running out of breath, bloglings!LotD 126

Today, the clothes are not new. I took a little break from Pose Fair (with a pose from Pose Fair, of course) to bring you a look of the day which is just a mish-mash of things found in the depths of my inventory (don’t pretend your inventory isn’t just as deep, scary, and unorganized).

Style Notes: Though the clothes aren’t new, the pose and pose prop (lunch box) are. They can both be purchased at Pose Fair 2013.  The poses are purchased in a pack and the lunch boxes are in a gacha (good luck!).

Social Media Meme

meme photo

Another meme for you (and another pose from Pose Fair 2013!), my little Bloggettes. This one is based on social media and I’m only doing it for the sake of completion because don’t participate much in social media. This is another meme implemented by the lovely Strawberry Singh. You can read more about what a meme is <here> or read her own memes on her memes’ page <here>.
What was the first social network you joined using your SL Avatar?
Flickr in April of 2011. I did this at the same time that I created my blog, for my blog.

Which social networks are you currently on using your SL Avatar?

Flickr ♥

Plurk — I just started Plurk and it kinda confuses the hell out of me, to be honest.

Which network is your favorite?

Flickr, of course! The Flickr community is so talented and encouraging. Each “favorite” is a boon to my confidence as a blogger. I’ve learned so much from the Flickr community and have found so many SL bloggers through Flickr that I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

Which network is your least favorite?
Plurk. I don’t have many friends on Plurk (Please friend me; I’m a force for good. haha) and the format seems confusing to me. Also, because it is new, I’m not sure how to utilize it to my advantage yet (without annoying the hell out of my friends) so, I mostly just sit back and watch the craziness.

Which network do you have the most amount of connections?
Flickr for obvious reasons. (I know this is becoming redundant, please bear with me. It will all be over soon. haha)

How/Where do you usually read/use most of your networks?
I only access them on my computer, mostly because I’m on SL enough and I want to keep that part of my life contained (it is already a bit out of control). 😀

What are your favorite social networking apps? (if applicable)

I don’t utilize any. 🙂

What do you like most about social networking sites?

I like the socialization and interaction between bloggers and readers. Futhermore, I love what I’ve learned through Flickr. It is invaluable to my success. And I’d be lying if I omitted that I liked promoting my own blog, because I like sharing the things I love and my own SL fashion sense with my little bloglings. 🙂 Considering Strawberry’s answer; I just may be signing up for a Twitter very soon (I want to learn more too!).

What do you like least about social networking sites?

I know that people have had problems with drama in social networking sites. I suppose that is inevitable. However, I haven’t really encountered any of that. Either I’m really good at avoiding it, or I’m completely oblivious (I’m going to pretend it is the former). However, simply knowing that the drama and negativity exist is enough for it to be my least favorite aspect of social networking sites.

Do you feel social networks are a good way to promote you/your brand/your work?
I do, but you have to be careful. It is ony good for promoting your brand if you mesh with the community and you participate in the community. Simply spamming your brand/work without being an active participant or if you are an active participant but are a constant stream of negativitiy/drama could be more detrimental to your brand/work than helpful.

What is your main reason for using Social Networks?

I don’t think I have one main reason. I signed up for Flickr to promote my blog, but I stayed for the knowledge base and talent. If it weren’t for that, I don’t think would utilize it as often or spend time interacting with the community (even if that is only by browsing others’ work. Often I don’t comment, because I get distracted. This is my mental process: “I’m going to comment on how lovely this photo is because I love such and such about it. Oh! Another pretty picture!” *click*).

LotD 94: Camera Dork

LotD 94

Maybe I should have warned you in the last post to grab each and every color of these leather leggings by House of Fox. I fail as a fashion blogger. They’re so versatile. Here they are again with this adorably over-sized sweatshirt by Auxiliary also at this month’s FaMESHeD. Tomorrow, I’ll be wading through the lag at the new round of Collabor88. 😀 I can’t wait!
