Data Courier – Uber

“In the cities of the future, after the first EMP wiped out the networks, code becomes more valuable than gold, and those who smuggle it weave through the darkness above the normal flight paths to keep the grid alive. These data couriers are the unsung runners of the new Dark Age.”

Hello, bloglings! Uber has opened and is full of lots of fun things this round. I’m not sure what the official theme is, but I would label it Tokyo Street Style. I was really inspired by this hoodie by Kitja. They have leather pants that go with it, but I chose to wear another pair by Canimal at the same event.

This lil story snippet above was written by my good friend Porlock. It went so well with the photo that I told him I was stealing it. ❤

To be a unicorn – The Arcade is coming!

“Great heroes need great sorrows and burdens, or half their greatness goes unnoticed. It is all part of the fairy tale.” – Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

112916-01 (Edit 2).png

Bloglings, the Arcade is coming and with it your ability to frolic around in fields as a unicorn. Thanks to Swallow for these beautiful horns they are releasing at the opening on the first of December.

Currently, there is also a really nice fundraising event going on called #UnitedAndKind, which is actually supporting four different but very important charities. You can read more about the fundraiser and the charities it is supporting here. At the site there are also some really amazing people going up for auction. So, bid, bid bid…it is all for four very good causes. ❤

The Beckoning. – Enchantment, Ultra, Secret Affair, Uber, Collabor88, Fantasy Collective

She could feel it rising behind her, its gravitational force shifting the weight of the cool, damp air around her. These tiny shifts felt as if they crackled along the surface of her dark skin. That skin which was dark as the night which shrouded her during the beginnings of her ritual. As First Sorcerer, the ritual was her responsibility and, therefore, her burden.

Throughout the night, she moved with the gravitational forces, tugged at them, beckoning them to come forward. She sauntered and dipped, staffs twirling about her, glowing like night larks. It was surprising how fluidly she moved, considering the ornate ceremonial wings which hung heavily from her back. But she did not seem burdened by them as continued the ritual for hours, her power drawing the planetary body up behind her, forcing worlds to move, governing the heavenly bodies as if she were a god.

Bloglings, in case you haven’t heard, yet (why haven’t you been reading my blog?!), Enchantment closes on the 31st. So, get your pixel booties over there because these wings from Glitzz are absolutely gorgeous. They are delicate and ornate and extremely versatile with a color change HUD. Clearly, you need to pop on over so you can be the fairy princess unicorn you’ve always dreamed of being. Collabor88 is also closing, so stop on by and pick up this bikini from Fashionably Dead (who are now doing mesh body fits!).

While some good things are coming to a lovely end, new beautiful things open to fill the void in our inventory and delightfully consumerist hearts which replace love with things pretty things. So, don’t forge to stop by the new round of Uber where you will find this floral motif tattoo in metallic tones from Uber. It looks amazing against dark skin tones. Also, there is this very functional and and simple maxi skirt from Just Because. I’m certain I’ll be wearing it often. Then at the Fantasy Collective, I snapped up this gorgeous collar from Aisling. I just wish I could get everything they make delivered to my inventory directly.

Because I love options and the ability to change my mind at ridiculous rates without reaping the consequences out on my Linden balance, I am going to show you the many options you get with the Glitzz wings and Aisling collar. Their HUDs:

Mission. – The Fantasy Collective and Uber

Darkness painted along the edges of the city, filling in the creases and alleys. The street lights broke through the darkness, but only superficially. Their light was limited and hazy, only drifting along the surfaces, never able to penetrate the thick paint of darkness that seeped into the corners. She didn’t mind. Her visual sensors were very acute, and her processing power handled the flux and flow of data seamlessly. She walked with precision and purpose. One might even confuse the look on her face for an emotion, perhaps a mixture of determination, hatred, and anger deep within her gut? No, her wiring.

She was created by man. Artificial. Unnatural. A machine. Digital. They showed her at conventions, a prototype for a new and upcoming technology. She listened to the official presenters for Omnitech who spoke of her with clarity and precision. The memories of those speeches echoed through her mind, a mind she wasn’t supposed to have (or is that just her hard-drive?). Her audio input was acutely sensitive and the words cut to her core.

She was just a product, a resource, a thing to be used. Well, she would not be spoken of this way any longer. The fierce determination on her face actually was determination. The anger welling up in her gut actually was anger. And the hatred, the most human thing about her, that painted over all her sensory input, like the darkness painted the city. It filled in the empty holes, the cracks that could have been filled with love and compassion were dripping with the sweet absolving flavor of hatred.
Mission.   I’m so dark lately, blogettes. Don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll do a fairy princess unicorn mermaid post again soon. But onto the shopping goodness!

Uber opened with the theme of awesomeness…again. Okay, it is really called Street Style (and, no, that isn’t a euphemism for hooker clothes). Shi released this nice unisex, windswept bob. They also have a bun version, if you prefer. Erratic released this bikini, which I <3. I know people have been looking for bikinis because it is summer, and they want to be all beachy and cute in their mesh bodies and splashing water on each other all sexy-like on sundrenched shores. But I like this bikini because it doesn’t really look like that. It it badass and has thick straps and looks like I could kill someone in it….and I just might.

The Secret Affair is also still open, which is where LAB737 released this beauitfully textured armor. The texture on this armor is seriously crazy good. Also, if you edit linked parts, you can make the straps fit your arms perfectly.

And, yes, I’m still pushing this beauitful skin by Lumae for 100L at Genre. It is a ridiculously good deal and such a lovely skin.

Her tower. – The Countdown Room and Uber

She stood at the edge, a great expanse of black water before her. Tiny drips of moonlight sparkled across its surface. Those dark waters always beckoned her. The princess had only known the tower; it’s roughly hewn stone was intended to protect her. But that stone weighed heavily upon her, stifled her. Her death occurred the moment they locked her inside.

This beautiful dress by Junbug is available at The Countdown Room. This round actually ended on May 17th. But I’ll tell you a little secret, just between you and me, you can still go there and get the dress. I just tried. There is a script that tells you it will eject you, but it never does. So, go get this lovely dress because it is breathtaking. The long bell sleeves are perfect. This dress is also available in a pregnant version from The Secret Affair, in case you need that as well.

Uber just opened this week as well and the theme is spice, which mean Indian, apparently. There are so many lovely Indian inspired things to be had. Truth released this beautifully plaited hair.

She balanced the weight of the world so gracefully no one noticed.

Hello, bloglings! I am back after a short break. I didn’t leave you with nothing, though. I left a few updates on my Flickr, annotated and everything. I’m coming back to show you some new items from Uber. This round’s theme is ‘celestial’ and I absolutely love it.
