Portraits of queens hang heavily on walls of palaces and castles amongst intricately worked tapestries. Their presences are daunting. The canvases thick with paint are looming and ominous. Their stiff, elegant necks are layered with starched ruffles. Their caged hair is stacked high upone their heads to increase their stature. The deep hues of the paint reflecting the deep hues of velvet and silks they swath themselves in. But this opulence, this public display, this carefully crafted art is not a ruler’s real portrait. Instead, it is in people of her domain. Does she surround herself with people who are too intimidated to question her autocratic rule? Does she fill her royal command with mere servants to fulfill her command or does dissent and free thought thrive in her presence? And the people she does not have the time to see, who till the fields, weave the cloth, fire the blades, and barter the goods, are they content? Do they rest or do they quarrel? Does she incite peace and harmony or do her endless decisions cause derisiveness and pettiness? This is the true portrait of a queen; don’t let the artist fool you.

She portrayed the poise of her newly attained station. Her head held the heavy crown steadily. But inside, she trembled. She felt her hands fluttering, but they did not move at all as she held the sceptre of her station. Cerulean eyes washed out over the crowed of elves and woodland creatures which gathered in the grove to watch her take the new crown. She wondered if they heard her heart beating; it sounded so incredibly loud in her ears and she was certain in reverberated off the trunks of the large, old trees throughout the ceremonial grove. The burden of her new station weighed heavily upon her, not just the weight of the crown upon her head, but it bore down on her shoulders and weighed in her mind. When she spoke, her voice was mellifluent, words cascaded over crowd like the songs of the night larks. She need not say anything at all, for the audience gathered around and simply listened to the symphony of her voice, letting it flow through the grove the crescendos ebbing and flowing like the cool surf. To them, she was perfect – poise and grace combined with education and humility.
ISON released this gorgeous dress at Crystal Heart Fair, which is a whole event themed around Sailor Moon. There are two versions of the dress available. The light and the dark. Each one comes with six colors. The Crystal Heart Fair ends on July 28th, so don’t forget to stop by. Honestly, there is so much there that is just freakin’ adorable and if you haven’t stopped by, you really should. Even the build is adorable.

I’m a little late, bloglings, but We ♥ RP is open! They have some lovely furniture stuffs this round by Zerkalo, aisling, and Ex Machina. The shelves by aisling and Ex Machina are beautifully detailed, and I love the clusters of candles from aisling. They come with different configurations so you can move them around at your whim (and I have many whims!).
Also! The Birdy sim is now open! We’ve waited forever and for our patience we have been given lovely group gifts. If you haven’t heard or you haven’t stopped by their sim, do it now. You may have missed some lovely items from different events and now you can pick them up. I picked up this beautiful top and skirt. I don’t know how I missed them before.
(Click on photos to visit my flickr and see larger images.)
And, also, if you haven’t heard the new Lelutka sim is opened. Honestly, if you haven’t heard, I’m not sure where you’ve been. But you should come out from under that rock and go to their new sim because they have three lovely mesh heads available which are made to be compatible with the Maitreya body and for which you can buy appliers from Glam Affair! I’m just going to assume I can hear the *whoosh* of the teleport right now as you’re being whisked away to try demos and get your free gifts!
We ♥ RP opens tomorrow! Don’t miss out on the new awesomeness coming your way, bloglings! Here is a little preview:
This chestpiece from Zenith is absolutely beautiful (not that I’m surprised) and perfectly matches the bum belt from last round. So you can see the chest piece and its detail more clearly:

I spent some time at Frisland today and it is an absolutely lovely Autumnal sim. I spoke briefly with the owner and he was very kind and gracious. It is always a pleasant surprise when a beautiful sim and a kind owner come together. So, please, stop by and explore the idyllic lands and drop a little linden in the donation jar, if you find that your time was well spent.
Also, Mystic Realms Faire closes in just a couple days. If you haven’t been (and I’m sure you have, if I know you bloggettes), stop by because there are so many wonderful things like this GField dress, which is absolutely adorable, and completely necessary for any elven maiden.

I decided to write up three separate looks today. All feature the same shirt from House of Fox. It isn’t particularly new, I just found it in my inventory and ran with it. It is so well made and I was inspired by how useful it was.
This first look includes this new hair from Exile, which I absolutely love. The Bettie bangs are adorable. It is a bit darker than my usual looks, but it is one of my favorites to wear recently.
A little less casual and more chic is this second outfit. It includes these ColdLogic trousers which aren’t new but are still absolutely beautifully made. If you purchase them in pitch they have a very subtle and lovely texture to them.
The third and final look includes another pair of pants by ColdLogic. These pants are the newish simmonds trouser and come in a variety of colors. By another name, but basically the same pant with different textures are some jeans and all are very well made (as is anything with ColdLogic).
